He explained it is a routine agenda at every big event, which aims to create a sense of comfort and solemnity for the congregation in prayer. This year's Chinese New Year was different compared to previous years because visitors were no longer limited due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"The number of congregations attending will be higher than last year, there could be more than 500 people," he explained.

He added the congregation is expected to come to the temple from February 9-10. On Saturday night and early Sunday morning, they will start praying together.

"Hopefully, in the year of the Dragon, our country will be more prosperous and healthy considering there will be a democratic party which we hope can bring peace to all religious communities," he hoped.

Indra Satria (71), one of the congregations from Sunter Muara admitted this year's Chinese New Year would be more festive and colorful as all Indonesian citizens had gone through difficult times due to the pandemic.

"Maybe, tomorrow night, I will come back for prayer and Saturday morning to gather with my family," he closed.
