South Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency Head, Bernad Octavianus Pasaribu said the joint operation was held to improve motorists' traffic discipline while preventing against-the-flow violations that endanger road users.

"It is held from 7.30 to 10 AM and 4 PM to 6 PM at some points," he expressed, Friday (2/23).

Joint Personnel Intensify Action against Traffic Vehicles

He explained it involved 30 joint personnel and managed to reach 32 motorbikes that did contra flow in four locations, such as Jalan Taman Setiabudi II and Jalan Rasuna Said, Jalan Kalibata Raya and Jalan Ciputat Raya.

He added dozens of motorbikes that violated traffic were given BAP tickets by the police in order to give them a deterrent effect and awareness of traffic.

"If all drivers are orderly in traffic, it will create smoothness, security, and safety for all," he added.

One of the residents, Wahyu (29) supports controlling motorists who did contra flow, especially on Jalan Ciputat Raya. This case was often encountered and could endanger road users

"A fine should be given, as it is a danger to other people," he stressed.
