Fire engulfed a goods storage warehouse belonging to the At Taubah Islamic Elementary School (SDI), Jalan Pulomas Barat, Kayu Putih, Pulogadung, East Jakarta, Tuesday (2/27), at around 8 AM.
No casualities in the incident
East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-agency (Gulkarmat) Head, Gatot Sulaeman said no one knew how this fire started. The school guard and teachers at the school suddenly saw the fire burning and immediately made efforts to extinguish it using a portable fire extinguisher (APAR).
"We deployed three fire engines to the scene. Because the fire had already been extinguished, they only cooled down for 20 minutes, to ensure there was no further ignition," he expressed.

SDI At Taubah Representative, Maryanto added no one knew how the fire started, as the fire was known to have started from inside the warehouse.
"Luckily, several employees, teachers, and residents managed to extinguish the flames, thus it did not spread to other rooms," he said.
