Enthusiasm High for Idul Fitri Money Changers on Panggang Island

Residents living in Panggang Island Urban Village, North Seribu Islands, Seribu Islands, enthusiastically welcomed the money changers charge service initiated by Bank Indonesia (BI). The service is focused on Pramuka and Panggang islands.

Very helpful, even though there was quite a queue

One of the residents from Pramuka Island, Hesty Hasan (32), admitted that the money changers charge service was beneficial.

"I break a Rp 2 million bill into Rp 5,000 and Rp 20,000 denominations. Usually, children are happy when they get new money or angpao to relatives during Idul Fitri," she expressed, Wednesday (3/20).

The same statement also came out from another resident of RT 07/01, Panggang Island Urban Village, Dessy Irma.

According to her, residents must show NIK KTP to change the money.

"Very helpful, even though there was quite a queue. I break my money bill into Rp 5,000 and Rp 2,000 denominations," she explained.

Panggang Island Urban Village Head, Muhammad Fakih Burhanuddin explained the money changers charge service is a routine agenda in each residential island.

"The limit for breaking money is Rp 4 million per person. The denominations available are Rp 1,000, Rp 2,000, Rp 5,000, Rp 10,000, Rp 20,000, and Rp 50,000," he explained.

This service facilitates people in Seribu Islands who have many limitations.

"I appreciate and thank BI for providing money exchange services here," he stated.

As for the information, the money changers charge service is Bank Indonesia's SERAMBI (Vibrant Rupiah Ramadan and Blessing of Idul Fitri) program to meet the public's need for money fit for circulation.

The same service can also be found in Untung Jawa Island, Harapan Island, and Kelapa Island urban villages.
