Ramadan Brings Blessings to Culinary Sellers at Santa Market

Ramadan always brings blessings to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the culinary sector. Sellers of takjil or snacks for breaking the fast are always busy with buyers.

As experienced Zakaria (36), a Takjil Seller in the Santa Market, Jalan Cipaku 1, Petogongan Urban Village, Kebayoran Baru Sub-district, South Jakarta said that his net profit earned could reach Rp 500,000 per day.

"Alhamdulillah (thank God), many buyers have come since the beginning of Ramadan. Hopefully, it can continue to be busy until Idul Fitri," he expressed, Thursday (3/21).

He explained the takjil he sells includes kolak pisang ubi (banana cooked in coconut milk and palm sugar) for Rp 7,000, various fried foods for Rp 5,000 per three pieces, and buras, traditional South Sulawesi rice cakes filled with oncom or vegetables for Rp 2,000 per piece.

"I start selling at 2.30 PM to 6.30 PM or until my takjil supplies run out," he explained.

Another seller, Santi (35), expressed that her net income in one day selling various drinks such as mixed ice, kuwut ice, and fruit ice could reach more than Rp 500,000 per day.

"Yes, I'm very grateful that sales are good. I sell various ices for Rp 5,000 per package and to increase my turnover I also sell risol mayo smoked beef," she explained.

In the meantime, one of the takjil buyers, Niki (27) admitted that she bought takjil every time she came home from work because her office was close to Santa Market.

"I come home from work and immediately buy takjil here to eat at home. The price is quite cheap," he stated.
