PPKUKM Agency Supervises 10 Gas Stations on Mudik Route

The Jakarta Agency of Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises (PPKUKM) has carried out Measuring, Measuring, Weighing and Equipment (UTTP) supervision in several gas stations (SPBU) along the mudik (exodus) route.

It follows up on the Consumer Protection and Business Order (PKTN) Director General's Letter Number MR.03.03/75/PKTN/SD/02/2024 on the implementation of Legal Metrology Supervision ahead of National Religious Holidays (HBKN).

Its letter urges to regional governments throughout Indonesia to hold UTTP supervision and measuring units on mudik routes in the 3rd week of March 2024.

Jakarta PPKUKM Agency Head, Elisabeth Ratu Allo stated supervision at gas stations aimed to ensure the correctness of fuel dosing or measurements and provide consumer protection. "Especially for travelers using private vehicles," she expressed, Monday (3/25).

Based on the results of monitoring, all fuel oil measuring pumps have a valid stamp and the error is still within the permitted limits (approximately 0.5 percent). It means that the results of gas stations that are monitored are safe and tolerable.

"Based on the results of monitoring activities at ten gas stations, no violations of Law Number 2/1981 on Legal Metrology were found," she explained.

She explained it is a routine agenda every year, especially before Idul Fitri.

"Vehicle users need fuel, especially on the mudik route, don't let consumers be harmed by entrepreneurs. Through this supervision, we hope that business actors won't commit fraud that could harm consumers," she added.
