9,280 Trees in East Jakarta Pruned

Throughout January April 25, the East Jakarta Parks and Forestry Sub-agency (Tamhut) pruned 9,280 trees in order to prevent falling trees. This number will continue to increase until the end of next year.

It is done in ten sub-districts

East Jakarta Parks and Forestry Sub-agency Head, Djauhar Arifin said tree pruning was carried out daily with moving locations. The target was a shady tree whose branches overhang the road or cover the street lights.

From 9,280 trees pruned, 2,456 were pruned in January, 2,315 were pruned in February, 2,297 were in March, and 2,212 were in April.

"It is done in ten sub-districts," he expressed, Friday (4/26).

Forestry and Green Belt Section Acting Head, Randi Putra added that his party prepared 91 task force personnel and 23 chainsaws, one ladder car to reach heights above 10 meters to support it.

"We set up the pruning team task force posts at the Sub-agency Office and Cipinang Besar Selatan Office. They are alerted every day to cover and handle fallen trees," he stated.
