As many as 20 students together with 10 parents of Raudatul Athfal Ruhama Kindergarten Panggang Island visited Sector VII Damkar Post of Seribu Utara Sub-district Fire Handling and Rescue on Karya Island, Panggang Island Urban Village.

Seribu Utara Island's Sector VII's Gulkarmat Head, Yuli, said the visit to gain knowledge about rescue or rescuing victims, introduction to the firefighting profession, and the dangers of fire.

"We also introduced dozens of kindergarten children to fire equipment and its functions. Apart from that, we invite them to practice putting out fires by spraying water from the fire truck hose," he said, Thursday (5/2).

Meanwhile, teachers were also educated about putting fire with light extinguisher and traditional tools.

He added that this program is also part of delivering information related to fire handling to the citizens.

"Hopefully this activity can provide motivation and enthusiasm for children to better understand their self-esteem in order to avoid the potential dangers of disasters," he hoped.

Raudatul Athfal Ruhama Kindergarten Headmaster, Istiana Rahma, thanked Gulkarmat Sector VII for educating and socializing them about fire handling.

"The children seem happy. Moreover, they were allowed to try out fire-fighting equipment such as fire-resistant jackets, helmets, boots, and were even invited to board the Gulkarmat ship," she admitted.

According to her, the school often visits agency office such as KPKP Sub-agency to learn about urban farming.

"I hope that this visit can provide insight or knowledge that is not only from the classroom and provide an opportunity to determine their best aspirations," she stated.
