Dirty Channel in Gang B on Jalan Kurnia Dredged

Koja Sub-district Water Resources (SDA) Implementation Unit, dredging mud and garbage in Gang B, Jalan Kurnia, RT 08/17, Tugu Utara Urban Village, Koja Sub-district, North Jakarta.

The work progress has touched 20 percent. It is targeted to be finished

Koja Sub-disrict SDA Executing Unit Head, Riyanto said the dredging is part of regular routine maintenance to prevent silting of the channel.

"This case is prone to triggering flooding due to water in the channel not being accommodated or overflowing," he expressed, Wednesday (5/22).

Channel Repairs on Jalan Lebak Bulus Raya Completed

He explained sediment dredging was conducted on both sides of the channel, which is 85 meters long, 40 centimeters wide and 50 centimeters high.

"The average thickness of the mud and waste is around 30 centimeters," he explained.

He added the work involved ten personnel of the Koja Sub-district SDA Executing Unit.

"The work progress has touched 20 percent. It is targeted to be finished," he explained.

Hopefully, it would accommodate water optimally when it rained.

The work received appreciation from one of the residents from RW 17, Tugu Utara Urban Village, Teguh Khairul (55).

"We support it, as it can minimize the occurrence of flooding. Hopefully, the work will be completed soon," he stated.
