161 Participants Ready to Compete for East Jakarta Abnon

East Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Sub-agency has opened the registration of Abang None (Abnon) 2024. Currently the number of registrants has reached 161 registrants, consisting of 65 male (Abang) candidates and 96 female (None) candidates.

15 pairs will be taken as finalists

Acting East Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Sub-agency Head, Puji Astuti, said the registration runs from May 1 to 31. The first audition will be held to measure height on June 1, and on the second day the jury will interview the participants.

"At the first audition, 60 people or 30 pairs will be taken and on the second day 15 pairs will be taken as finalists," she said, Thursday (5/30).

Puji added her side there is still an opportunity for teenagers in East Jakarta to register via the website abnon-disparekraf.jakarta.go.id.

The requirements for participants are fill out the existing form. Then Abang candidate must be at least 170 centimeters tall and None 165 centimeters with a high school diploma or equivalent and aged 18 - 25 years.

Other requirements are that they have never been married and will not be married for one year during the duty, have never been a finalist in the Abnon Jakarta election at the administrative city level, drug free, have broad insight, have a good personality and are permitted by parents or guardians.

In the judging, said Puji, her party will involve a team of judges who are professionals in their respective fields. For government, it is represented by the Government Assistant. Then for tourism from the Betawi Cultural Institute. Apart from that there are psychologists and representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Next, those who pass the audition will be given 10-15 materials, then there will be intermediate judging on June 29 and the final on July 5.

"Hopefully we will get winner who is able to be tourism ambassador and promote East Jakarta tourism," she concluded.
