North Jakarta Vice Mayor, Juani Yusuf together with the ranks of the North Jakarta Food Security, Maritime and Agriculture Sub-agency (KPKP), inspected the location of the qurban (sacrificial) animal shelter on Jalan Raya Kramat Jaya, RT 07/05, Tugu Utara Urban Village, Koja Sub-district, North Jakarta.

According to him, it was conducted to ensure that residents received qurban animals that were suitable, healthy, and met the requirements or in accordance with Islamic law.
"We also urge traders of qurban animals to comply with the rules imposed by the government, such as not selling in public facilities," he expressed, Wednesday (6/12).

"For people who want to buy qurban animals, it would be better to buy them at a shelter that has a KPKP Sub-agency sticker because it guarantees its suitability so that our qurban worship meets the requirements and harmony," he explained.
North Jakarta KPKP Sub-agency Head, Unang Rustanto added that to date, inspections had been carried out at 110 shelter locations with a total of 6,492 qurban animals consisting of cows, buffalo, goats, and sheep.
"Until now, we haven't found any animals exposed to disease or anything else. All qurban animals in North Jakarta are in healthy condition," he expressed.
During the examination, as many as 24 qurban animals were still found that were not old enough (the age was still below the required age).
"We immediately separate them and mark them so they won't be sold. We keep inspecting qurban animals and will monitor the location where the qurban meat is slaughtered," he stated.
