4,870 Qurban Animals in C. Jakarta Undergo Health Checks

The Central Jakarta Food, Maritime and Agricultural Security Sub-agency (KPKP) has examined the health of 4,870 qurban animals spread across 106 qurban animal shelters (TPnHk) in eight sub-districts.

The results were all healthy

Central Jakarta KPKP Sub-agency Head, Penty Yunesi Pudyastuti said the 4,870 qurban animals examined consisted of 795 cows, 3,851 goats, and 224 sheep.

"Not only the health of the animals, we also checked the suitability of the shelter. The results were all healthy," she said, Thursday (6/13).

She admitted she would continue supervising until D-1 of Idul Adha, Monday (6/17). That was by examining an ante mortem from the D day to D+3 of Idul Adha, involving presonnel from PDHI and IPB Campus.

"We'll target meat slaughter locations and the inside of the animal. Then at the same time monitor the cutting location so it complies with the provisions," she asserted.

Central Jakarta Economy and Development Assistant, Bakwan Ferizan Ginting added the supervision was conducted to ensure that the animals were in healthy condition. The personnel also gave vitamin injections to animals.

"That's why, we urge people to buy qurban animals at places that have passed through inspection stage," he asserted.
