117 Personnel Check Qurban Animals in West Jakarta

As many as 117 joint personnel were deployed to conduct postmortem checking at slaughtering location spread in eight sub-districts in West Jakarta.

Those personnel came from West Jakarta Food Tenacity, Maritime and Agriculture Sub-agency, Jakarta KPKP Agency, Indonesian Veterinary Association, and Agriculture Institute Bogor students.

"We deployed 117 personnel to conduct postmortem checking at slaughtering locations," said Novy C Palit, West Jakarta Food Tenacity, Maritime and Agriculture Sub-agency Head, Monday (6/17).

Novy explained that personnel checking the sacrificial animals, starting from body organs such as the heart, lungs, liver and spleen. Personnel also ensured that the slaughter of sacrificial animals is hygienic and ensured they are fit for public consumption.

Up to June 16, 2024, Novy added, her side has been checking 11,035 qurban animals from 198 shelters.

"Based on the results of checking the sacrificial animals, all of them were in healthy condition, so they were safe for consumption by the public," she stated.
