South Jakarta Residents Receive Qurban Meats

The South Jakarta administration distributed 2,000 bongsang (bamboo basket) containing qurban (sacrificial) meat to mustahik (recipient).

Hope all can run smoothly

South Jakarta City Secretary, Ali Murthadho expressed that each bongsang distributed contained 1.5 kilograms of beef or goat meat.

"The meat we distribute is the result of slaughtering 33 cows and 60 goats, including, cows from the Jakarta Acting Governor," he expressed, Tuesday (6/18).

He explained all qurban animals had passed health and suitability checks according to Islamic law. Then, to provide convenience, modern cow thrashing tools were also used.

"Today, we deployed 100 officers for slaughtering and distributing meat," he explained.

The meat was also distributed to PJLPs, such as SDA, PPSU, etc.

"It must be completed at 5 AM. Hope all can run smoothly," he added.

South Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Sub-agency (KPKP) Head, Hasudungan A Sidabalok expressed that the internal organs of all qurban animals were not distributed, but were buried in a place that had been prepared.

"The slaughtering process is following Shari'a, we also ensure that the meat shredding is hygienic, and the packaging and distribution are also environmentally friendly," he stated.
