Containing Worms, 48.65 Kg of Qurban Organs in N. Jakarta Rejected

As many as 48.65 kilograms of qurban animal organs were rejected after inspection of urban animals at 278 slaughter locations from June 17 to 18, 2024.

North Jakarta Food Security, Maritime and Agriculture Sub-agency (KPKP) Head, Unang Rustanto said the qurban animal's organs were rejected because they contained worms.
"Those organs are liver weighing 42.55 kilograms, lungs 3.60 kilograms, and spleen 0.5 kilograms," he expressed, Wednesday (6/19).

"This is a standardization that has been going on for a long time. We want to ensure that the qurban meat distributed to residents is truly fit for consumption," he added.
In overall, his sub-agency had examined qurban animals, consisting of 1,341 cows, 2,717 goats, and 249 sheep.
"There are 100 personnel involved here. They collaborated with the Jakarta KPKP Agency and Indonesian Veterinary Association (PDHI)," he explained.
His party had also held examinations at locations where qurban animals were held or sold to check their health conditions through physical checks such as fur, eyes, mouth, teeth, nails, movements, and age.
"As long as the examination in the field goes well, we rarely find sick animals, only those that are not old enough. Qurban animals in North Jakarta are on average healthy and viable," he explained.
Sunter Agung Resident, Amrullah (54) as the qurban animal slaughter committee welcomed and was very grateful for the supervision conducted by the North Jakarta KPKP Sub-agency. Through this examination, residents' health was maintained and they were free from infectious diseases.
"Alhamdulillah (thank God), no problems with the qurban animal's organs or meat. Certainly, the Mustahik (recipient) can consume it properly and healthily," he stated.
