By End of July, Capacity Increase of Nine Channels in C. Jakarta Completed

The capacity increase of nine channels executed by the Central Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency (SDA) since last May is targeted to be 100 percent complete by the end of July 2024.

The work progress has touched 80 percent

"The initial stage is focused on nine spots," he expressed Central Jakarta SDA Sub-agency Head, Mustajab, Monday (7/1).

He said those nine channels repaired were spread over three sub-districts, as follows:

1. Senen

- Jalan Kramat Pulo Kramat Urban Village, Jalan Melati Senen, Jalan Salemba Bluntas Paseban, Jalan Kalibaru Timur Bungur Urban Village

2. Sawah Besar

- Jalan Kartini 4 Kartini Urban Village

3. Cempaka Putih

- Jalan Cempaka Putih Barat 2, Cempaka Putih Barat IX Cempaka Putih Barat Urban Village, Jalan Cempaka Putih Timur 1, Jalan Pramuka Sari I Rawasari Urban Village.

He explained it was done to replace the sheet pile's river stones material with U-ditch cast concrete measuring 60 to 80 centimeters according to the depth of the channel at each location.

"The work progress has touched 80 percent," he explained.

The work received appreciation from one of the residents in RT 06/04 Kartini Urban Village, Iwan.

"Hopefully, it can be completed soon and can minimize flooding," he closed.
