150 Trees Planted on Batu Bangkong Reservoir Cipayung

East Jakarta Mayor, Muhammad Anwar, led the planting of 150 trees on Batu Bangkong Reservoir, Jalan Masjid 3 RT 06/06, Cipayung Urban Village, Friday (7/12).

The planting, which was held in a program called Friday Planting, involved cross sectors such as City Park and Forestry Sub-agency, Food Security, Maritime and Agriculture Sub-agency, Water Resource, PKK Cadre, sub-district and urban village apparatuses, and residents.

Anwar admitted East Jakarta still has many empty land to be planting with trees. One of them is located near Batu Bangkong 1 and 2 Reservoir on Jalan Masjid 3 Cipayung.

"The construction of this reservoir is to control flooding in the surrounding area. Apart from that, it is also a tourist destination and a place for citizen interaction," he said.

Apart from planting trees, a jogging track area will also be created at this location so that residents can exercise at any time. To make it look natural, the reservoir sheet pile is left natural.

Meanwhile, East Jakarta City Park and Forestry Sub-agency Head, Djauhar Arifin, explained the 150 trees planted today were sent from Seed Garden of City Park and Forestry and KPKP Agencies.

The 150 trees planted consisted of 27 Yellow Tabebuya trees, 15 Buttercup trees, five Spathodea trees, three Pulai trees, 50 Jamaican Guava and 50 Mango trees.

"The Batu Bangkong Reservoir has a very large area of ​​land. So it is still possible to plant trees again in the future," he admitted.
