BPBD's Rapid Response Team Personnel Participate in Boat Skill Training in Netherlands

One of the Rapid Reaction Team (TRC) personnel under Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), Marwan, took part in the Boat Skill Share training which took place in Amsterdam, Netherlands, from July 12 to 23, 2024.

It aims to understand current environmental problems

Jakarta BPBD Head, Isnawa Adji said Marwan, who joined in 2022, is one of the mainstay personnel in various emergencies and has been involved in various disaster management activities, such as rapid fire assessments, rescuing residents during floods, searching for drowning victims, and so on.

"On several occasions, he has been a resource for water rescue training both for colleagues and at other institutions or institutions," he expressed, Friday (7/12).

BPBD Equips People with Disabilities in Disaster Management

He explained the training was organized by Greenpeace Indonesia and the participants were representatives from Thailand, Philippines, Germany, and various other European countries.

"It aims to understand current environmental problems, how to mitigate and handle them," he explained.

He continued he had also received various certifications, including rescue and evacuation of collapsed buildings, water rescue, emergencies for drowning patients, one-star scuba diving, water tourism safety scouting, or Lifeguard from BNSP.

Then also Emergency Medical Team certification, Boat Team Assessment, Water Rescue Training of Trainer, Rope Access and Rescue Training, Hazardous Material Training, and Boat Training.

Even, he was also active in various humanitarian and environmental activities throughout Indonesia, even in Thailand and South Korea.

"His work in disaster management and environmental conservation efforts is an inspirational figure who deserves to be appreciated," he stated.
