Jakarta Library and Archive Agency (Dispusip) together with Jentera Indonesian Law College (STHI) held a seminar on Copyright and Libraries with the theme 'Handling Copyright Disputes and Collective Management Institutions'.

The seminar, which was part of Dispusip's development of built libraries, presented practitioners and academics in the field of Law on Copyright, including the Director of Copyright and Industrial Design of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia Ignatius Silalahi, Chair of the Management of the Indonesian Copyright Reproduction Association Kartini Nurdin, and Academician of Jentera Indonesian College of Law, M. Faiz Aziz.
The activity was carried out in a hybrid and also attended by 250 participants consisting of library and information staff from schools, universities and government agencies.
Dispusip Supports SMAN 78 in National Library CompetitionJakarta Library and Archive Agency Head, Firmansyah, hopes this seminar can increase library managers' awareness of potential misuse and solutions to copyright disputes.
"Solution are needed to deal with disputes related to copyright in libraries," he said.
According to Firmasnyah, libraries need to understand the norms of ownership rights and usability of copyrighted works. So, it will be more confident in optimizing literature collection.
"This will make the library grow even more rapidly," he stated.
