Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), East Jakarta is set to hold the Marching Band Parade and Tabut Parade this weekend and several other interesting performances.

TMII President Director, Intan Ayu Kertika expressed that the seven-meter-high Tabut Parade from Bengkulu is held to commemorate the 10th of Muharram.

"This is started at 5.30 PM, from the Bengkulu Pavilion leads to the Kori Agung Plaza and continues with the Mass Payung Geulis Dance," she expressed, Friday (7/19).

To commemorate the National Children's Day which falls on July 23, her side will hold the Parade Marching Band event that involves more than 1,000 children from some schools in Jakarta on Sunday (7/21) at 3 PM at Tugu Api Pancasila.

According to her, this parade will highlight National Children's Day celebrations at TMII, with various activities designed specifically for children and families.

"It is an important moment for us to foster a sense of togetherness and teach children about the importance of appreciating and respecting cultural diversity in Indonesia," she explained.

TMII Public Relations Section Head, Novera Mayang Sari added visitors could also enjoy doll music performances, hadroh, and various art performances and enjoy regional culinary specialties for free.

She hoped that this regional arts and culture presentation could be a forum for education, especially for the younger generation to get to know and appreciate the richness of Indonesian culture.

"Hopefully, through this event, the public can help preserve the nation's cultural heritage. We're always committed to presenting educational and entertaining events for the whole family," she hoped.

She added that TMII offers a free entry ticket promo for children under 12 years from July 20-23, 2024 (maximum 2 children in 1 transaction) by showing KK/KIA/Student Card as age validation.

"Children also get bundle cable car tickets, ride the cable car as many times as they like, and the Archipelago Wildlife Conservation Area," she concluded.
