BPBD Holds Disaster Management Capacity Handling in Kemayoran

Jakarta Regional Disaster Handling Board (BPBD) held coaching and capacity improvement for volunteer and other community in disaster management, at Kemayoran Urban Village Hall, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (7/30
).to increase the capacity of the community and volunteers
This program, was participated by 30 participants of urban village apparatuses, RT/RW administrators and public.
The materials provided include disaster management, basic life support, splint dressing, simulation and techniques for dealing with earthquake disasters, first aid techniques and socialization of Jakarta Siaga 112.

"This activity aims to increase the capacity of the community and volunteers in the urban village. If they already understand about disasters, the urban village can independently deal with emergency situations if disaster occurs," Basuki said.
This program is also a form of pentahelix collaboration for disaster management and handling in Jakarta. The pentahelix concept is a multi-party collaboration consisting of elements of government, academics, practitioners, society or community, mass media, and other parties to achieve the same goal.
"Various steps that have been taken by Jakarta in disaster management readiness include seeking collaboration groups between the government in the form of urban village and the community," he said.
BPBD also appealed to the public if they find or experience an emergency, they can contact the Jakarta Siaga 112 call center.
