LH Agency Terminates Employment Relationship with PJLPs for Fraud

The Jakarta Environment (LH) Agency through the Water Body Waste Handling Unit (UPS BA) followed up on residents' reports regarding an alleged fraud case involving one of the PJLPs.

The case first surfaced through a video uploaded on social media. In the video, a UPS BA staff allegedly asked the reporter for money with the promise of recruitment in March 2023.

UPS BA Head, Dadang Cahya Rusdiana said his party had asked for information from the staff concerned regarding this action. The individual had admitted his mistake and apologized for his actions.

"As a consequence, he has been given a strict punishment in the form of a Termination of Employment Letter or SPHK," he expressed, Thursday (8/15).

He emphasized that this firm action was taken to ensure that all PJLPs in the UPS BA environment comply with applicable regulations and as an important lesson so that similar incidents do not happen again.

"Hopefully, all UPS BA officers can work professionally and with high integrity and uphold ethics in their duties," he hoped.

Jakarta Environment Agency's Public Relations, Yogi Ikhwan thanked the community for reporting the incident.

"We appreciate the report given. It proves that the community is important in helping us carry out our supervisory function," he added.

He also urged all people and staff in the field to remain vigilant and report if they find similar actions in the future. If they find any suspicious actions, the public is expected to report them immediately.

"By so, we can strengthen the supervisory function together," he stated.
