Waste Management Education Held at SDN Kalibaru 05

As many as 170 students of SDN Kalibaru 05, Kalibaru Urban Village, Cilincing, participated the educational tourism on waste management and environmental care at RPTRA Sunter Muara , Sunter Agung Urban Village, Tanjung Priok Sub-district, North Jakarta.
Making eco enzyme
Tanjung Priok Sub-district Environment Implementer Unit Head, Leo Tantino, said his side involved three personnel accompanied with local RW caretakers to conduct waste sorting and eco enzyme making education.
According to him, making eco enzyme is one of the efforts to reduce the volume of waste. In addition, this liquid also has multi-functions that are useful for replacing chemicals at home.

One of SDN Kalibaru 05 teachers, Desy, appreciated the program held at the school today.
"Those 170 students were from class 5 and 6," she said.
Desy added visiting activities like this are often carried out by schools, in accordance with their learning curriculum.
"The students were very enthusiastic and happy, especially when they made eco enzyme. Of course this is a new knowledge and insight that is unforgettable for them," she added.
Meanwhile, RW 05 Sunter Agung Head, Nurus Shobah, explained the students' visit was in the context of implementing the P5 curriculum on waste and garbage management in their subjects.
"They were taught about urban farming, then sorting waste from its source and making eco enzymes," she explained.
"We invite the students in making liquid organic fertilizer using vegetable waste. Then, continue with harvesting hydroponic vegetables," she stated.
