Resident's Participation in Waste Sorting in Senen Increasing

The participation of residents in Senen Sub-district, Central Jakarta, in waste sorting is getting high. There are 272 houses conducting waste sorting during July 2024. Thus number is higher compared to June 2024 by 168 houses.

Senen Sub-district's Environment Implementer Unit Head, Slamet Fikli, said those 272 houses conducting waste sorting are spread in 19 RWs from six urban villages. He is optimistic the number will increase soon.
Waste Sorting Education Encouraged in West Jakarta"We'll keep intensifying the socialization about waste sorting," he said, Friday (8/9).
Slamet added that his side conducted socialization about Governor Regulation No 77/2020 about RW's Waste Management, on Wednesday (8/7).
The activity involved Economy and Development Section Heads from six urban villages and Waste Division Assistant from 48 RWs around Senen Sub-district. Five PPSU personnel from six urban villages as the participant.
Slamet continued that the socialization was held to advance the understanding related with waste sorting, especially their responsibility.
His side also educate the task of Economy and Development Section and Urban Village PPSU personnel in assisting RW assistant to increase the number of waste sorting participant.
Meanwhile, Senen Sub-district Head, Winetrin, admitted PPSU personnel's role in socializing waste sorting is very effective since they work on residential and understand the local resident character.
"Economy and Development Section should understand more to maximally support PPSU educating residents," she explained.
