Munjirin added that the event is also effort to introduce reservoirs in South Jakarta as tourist destinations, in addition to their main use to anticipate flooding.
"We also encourage reservoirs to become tourist destinations for the community. Because, as we see, reservoirs in South Jakarta are well maintained, clean, and can be social spaces," he added.
Munjirin explained that the activity was held with the support of PT Bank DKI, Tata Logam Group, FIF Group, Perumda Pasar Jaya, Jakarta Infrastructure (JIP) by Jakpro, South Jakarta Immigration Office, PT KAI, Bogasari, and Alfamidi.
"This year's participation number is higher compared to last year. Hopefully we'll hold it again next year," he explained.
Meanwhile, South Jakarta Cup's Fun Fishing 2024 Committee Head, Yogi Wahyu Priyono, appreciated South Jakarta Mayor who have entrusted WJS to hold this prestigious event.
"This activity is part of a collaboration between the South Jakarta City Government and journalists assigned to cover the South Jakarta area. Hopefully, positive collaboration like this will continue," he said.
At the same moment, he added, Munjirin together with his ranks also planted productive trees at the reservoir.
"Planting trees is important to make the environment more beautiful, green and cool," he added.
