As many as 700 janitors from Central Jakarta Environment Sub-agency (LH) have been alerted in the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Stadium area. They will clean up the scattered trash after the Grand Mass celebration led by Pope Francis, Thursday (9/5) afternoon.

Central Jakarta LH Sub-agency Head, Slamet Riyadi stated that they would join the committee and officers from the GBK management. They would be on standby in the area around GBK since this afternoon.

"Before and during the event, our men will clean up any scattered trash," he expressed.

His party also deployed 26 vehicles to transport the trash, consisting of 16 cross-transport vehicles and 10 big-sized trucks, as well as 12 street sweeper vehicles.

"Hopefully, all parties will be aware of the need to work together to keep the environment clean and comfortable," he hoped.

Tanah Abang Sub-district LH Executing Unit Acting Head, Aripin explained those janitors have been alerted since 5 PM and will be on duty at night or after the event.

"They will start to work at 9 PM. The management had also informed that there will be sterilization first during the event," he stated.
