Heru Hopes for Menu and Portion Variation after Distributing 1,500 Free Nutritious Food

Jakarta Provincial Government held another trial of Free Nutritious Food (BMG) for students of SDN Manggarai 01 and SMPN 03 Jakarta, Manggarai Urban Village, Tebet Sub-district, South Jakarta, Monday (9/9).

In this fifth trial, Acting Jakarta Governor, Heru Budi Hartono, was accompanied by Jakarta TP PKK Chairwoman Mirdiyanti, Acting Jakarta Regional Secretary's Community Welfare Assistant Suharini Eliawati, Acting Jakarta Education Agency Head Budi Awaluddin, South Jakarta Mayor Munjirin, Perumda Dharma Jaya Director Raditya Endra Budiman, and PT Bank DKI Director Agus Haryoto Widodo.

Free Meal Trial, Heru Ensures Quality Food in JakartaToday's menus were divided into two types; first was uduk rice with stew, egg, stir-fried tempeh, banana, and mineral water provided by PT Bank DKI by 500 packages, and second menu was rice, beef teriyaki, vegetable salad, fruit and mineral water provided by Perumda Dharma Jaya.
The calorie of both types of menus ranges from 450-500 kilocalories (kcal) for Rp 20,000 and Rp 25,000 per package. The packaging of the food is also safe since it uses food grade containers marked with the food tare logo.
"Thanks to Perumda Dharma Jaya and Bank DKI for their contribution today. Hopefully many students will be able to enjoy this program too," Heru added.
Based on the monitoring, Heru continued that the menu should be adjusted for students of Kindergarten, Primary School, and Junior High School.
"We have been conducting a free meal trial specifically for elementary and middle school students for a month full. Students like the menu and finish their food. As our concern, students of grades 1 and 2 of elementary school, and kindergarten must be given menu that they like to meet the nutritional target," he continued.
Therefore Jakarta Provincial Government together with Perumda Dharma Jaya are looking for the right pattern for this program implementation. The trial will be held for senior high school students next week, and simultaneous trial throughout Jakarta for elementary school level in the near future.
At the same place, Perumda Dharma Jaya Director, Raditya Endra Budiman, explained company's CSR for today's program was preparing 1,000 food packages for SMPN Manggarai 03 students, South Jakarta.
"Perumda Dharma Jaya as Jakarta BUMD engaged in the food sector, especially animal protein, welcomes the implementation of this program positively. This is in line with our desire to improve the quality of welfare of the people of Jakarta," Raditya explained.
For the next menu, Dharma Jaya will cooperate with Jakarta Health Agency; Food Security, Maritime and Agriculture Agency, and Education Agency. Some of the criteria for food menus that must be met are menus that student like, meet nutritional needs, and are affordable.
Meanwhile, one of student's parents of SMP Manggarai 03, Ira, hoped the program can be held routine or once a week.
