Tuesday, Sidewalk Repairs on Jalan Raya Kelapa Nias Completed

Repairs to the 45-meter-long sidewalk on Jalan Raya Kelapa Nias, precisely in front of Kelapa Gading Sector Police, Kelapa Gading Timur Urban Village, North Jakarta, which have been ongoing since September 9 are targeted for completion on Tuesday (9/17).

This work involves seven personnel every day

Kelapa Gading Sub-district Bina Marga Executing Unit Coordinator, Triyono Wijianto said the repairs were conducted, as the sidewalk condition was at the same level as the road surface and many were damaged.

"We're making repairs, because of many holes, broken paving blocks, and uneven surfaces," he expressed, Sunday (9/15).

He explained the sidewalk, which is 45 meters long and 2.2 meters wide, was being repaired to create a sense of safety and comfort for pedestrians and maintain the area's beauty.

"This work involves seven personnel every day," he explained.

Thus far, the work progress has reached 75 percent, the rest continued along the sidewalk to the back door of the Kelapa Gading Police Sector.

"We replaced all the old kantines and paving blocks with new ones. It is estimated to use 75 curbs and 4,200 paving blocks," he explained.

The work above received appreciation from a resident, Shalsa (29). Thus far, the sidewalk has been uncomfortable to cross because it is bumpy and is often crossed by motorbikes.

"Hopefully, it will be neater and more arranged. As pedestrians, we will be safer and more comfortable," she concluded.
