1,964 Damaged Roads in Jakarta Repaired

To give convenience and safety for road users, Jakarta Bina Marga Department accelerated the reparation of damaged roads in the city. From a total of 2,998 damaged roads in Jakarta until this May 2015, 1,964 damaged roads have been repaired.

"From citizens's report via email, twitter, and our complaint line centre, there are 2,998 points of damaged road in the city. 1,964 of them have been repaired," said Head of Maintenance Division for Jakarta Bina Marga Department, Suko Wibowo, Sunday(5/10).

He claimed, based on the report, the most damaged roads are in West Jakarta that is about 1,033 points. From the number, there are just 703 points repaired. Those points are located at Jalan Puri Kembangan, Jalan Kedoya Raya, Jalan Arjuna Selatan, Jalan Arjuna Utara, and Jalan Tanjung Duren.

He continued, the second most damaged roads are in East Jakarta that is about 588 points. From the number, his party has repaired 251 points or there are still 337 points left. Those points are located in Jalan Bekasi Timur, Jalan Otista, Jalan Pemuda, dan Jalan Matraman. "Road reparation is still a patchwork or temporary. The important is no potholes," he continued.

In South Jakarta, 314 damage roads have repaired from a total 528 points. While 91 points left are still being repaired gradually. "The roads repaired in South Jakarta are located atJalan Supomo, Jalan Saharjo, Jalan Pasar Minggu, and Jalan Mampang Prapatan," he uttered.

In Central Jakarta, he added, the damaged roads that have been repaired is about 333 points from a total 442 points. Such as alan Gunung Sahari, Jalan Suprapto, Kramat Raya, Jalan Senen Raya, Jalan Abdul Muis, and Jalan Jati Baru. "There are still 109 points left in Central Jakarta," he explained.

While in North Jakarta, he continued, 363 of 407 damaged roads have repaired thus there are still 44 points left. Those roads repaired are located at Jalan Boulevard Barat, Jalan Boulevard Raya, Jalan Bugis, Jalan Pelumpang, and Jalan Yos Sudarso.

"The reparation by a patchwork will be last only for 3 months if the traffic in the locations is not dense. But if it is dense, it could be damaged for just 1 month," he told.

He disclosed, at this time his party has started the auction process for goods and services in order to maintain the roads permanently or heavy maintenance ranging from hot asphalt (Hotmix) to roads betonisasi (program of changing (paths, walls, etc.) to concrete) "If there is already tender winner, the employment contract and heavy maintenance could be started," he disclosed.

Additionally, this year his party got allocation budget amounted to Rp 350 billion. The budget will be used to road, sideroad channel, sidewalk, flyover, underpass, bridge and Transjakarta bus lane reparations which is a small scale.
