Jakarta Provincial Government Delivers Assistance for Fire Survivors in Kalianyar

Jakarta Provincial Government through West Jakarta Administration, Social Agency, Regional Disaster Handling (BPBD) cooperated with Jakarta PMI delivered assistance for fire survivors on Jalan Kalianyar IV, RW 03, Kalianyar Urban Village, Tambora Sub-district, West Jakarta.

West Jakarta Mayor, Uus Kuswanto, said various assistance were already disbursed to fire survivors since morning.
"Together with related agencies, we have built tent and distributed assistance for fire survivors in Kalianyar since morning," he said, Tuesday (10/15).

"This is our part of responsibility for the survivors," he added.
Uus also expressed his deep concern and condolences for the fire disaster that claimed lives in Kalianyar Urban Village, Tambora, West Jakarta.
"We urge residents in densely populated areas to be careful when using gas or electric stoves to avoid fires," he continued.
Meanwhile, Jakarta BPBD Head, Isnawa Adji, explained his side has built two tents at Persima yard, near the fire location.
BPBD has also disbursed various assistances such as 60 boxes of mineral water, 300 boxes of ready-to-eat food, 300 blankets, 100 prayer robes, 50 sarongs, 150 family kit packages, 100 kidsware packages, 300 clothing packages, 100 tarpaulins, and 200 mattresses.
"There are also BPBD personnel to assist the fire survivors," he explained.
Previously, Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Agency Head, Satriadi Gunawan, explained 30 houses were burnt during the incident on Tuesday (10/15) at 1:22 AM.
"About 22 firetrucks were sent to extinguish the fire. The fire then was finally extinguished fully at 2:35 AM," he explained.
According to him, as many as 75 families with 300 people lost their houses.
"Temporary allegation, the case was caused fire electrical short," he stated.
