"Today, I express my appreciation and gratitude on behalf of Jakarta people and Jakarta Government to Jakarta kafilah who won second place in the National MTQ XXX 2024 event. Congratulations to the 38 kafilahs who won and fought hard to bring the name of Jakarta to compete with MTQ participants from 35 provinces, which this year was attended by around 1,998 participants," he expressed, at Great Hall, Jakarta City Hall, Thursday (10/31).

He hoped that this appreciation in the form of awards and bonuses could further strengthen the love for the Qur'an, as well as be a forum for spreading Islamic values that are full of grace and goodness.

"As a form of appreciation for this achievement, the Jakarta Government provides awards or bonuses that can be used to improve the quality of knowledge of the kafilah," he explained.

He asserted that the Jakarta Government would keep supporting religious guidance carried out by the Quran Recitation Development Institute (LPTQ), as the guidance process for the MTQ in Jakarta is a role model for other regions. He also hoped that LPTQ would increase its capacity to guide the community thus they enjoy reading and practicing the teachings of the Qur'an.

"Hopefully, what we have achieved this year can be the basis for moving in transforming into a global city. Because, in my opinion, becoming a global city is not merely pursuing worldly things, but also from the side of faith and religion must still be improved. Therefore, we continue to synergize together for the implementation of MTQ through LPTQ and other elements of society," he explained.

In preparation for the upcoming National Quran Recitation and Hadith Recitation Selection (STQH), Acting Governor advised that LPTQ Jakarta should not only hold tiered STQH/MTQ activities, starting from Sub-district, City/Regency to Province levels but should also make maximum efforts to provide motivation and learning to the community. Thus, a passion for reading, understanding, appreciating, and practicing the contents of the Al-Quran grows.

Besides that, LPTQ trainers and administrators were expected to provide guidance and coaching to prospective STQH/MTQ National Ambassadors according to their respective disciplines. Then, for prospective STQH/MTQ ambassadors, they are expected to always improve their discipline and abilities sustainably, and utilize Islamic knowledge for the benefit of society.

"Mayors and regents are expected to continuously support the coaching carried out by LPTQ in the City/Regency and Sub-district Areas. Establish good cooperation with all LPTQ stakeholders, so that later the Jakarta Province delegation can again win the General Champion at the 2025 National STQH," he stated.
