Acting Governor Inaugurates 300 Functional Teacher Officials

Jakarta Acting Governor, Teguh Setyabudi, inaugurated and swore in 300 functional teacher officials at Great Hall, City Hall, Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, Gambir, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (10/30).

In his speech, he said the inauguration and swearing-in of functional teacher officials aimed to improve services in the field of education.

"There are indeed many of our brothers and sisters who definitely want to become teachers and be inaugurated and sworn in, especially in the Jakarta Government environment. I congratulate the teachers who have just been inaugurated and sworn in," he expressed.

He explained the functional teacher officials who had been inaugurated and sworn in today should be grateful and be able to implement their main tasks, functions (tupoksi) and roles.

"I urge you to run mandate responsibly and contribute to the progress of Jakarta in your respective fields," he explained

He also told his life journey since childhood, raised in a teacher environment. From his grandfather and grandmother, and both of his parents were teachers. When he first served as a civil servant at Department of Home, he was placed in the Education and Training Agency.

"During his 32 years of service at the Ministry of Home, around 24 years from 1992 to 2019 he served at the Education and Training Agency as a teacher at the ASN level or instructor," he added.

He hoped that functional teacher officials as unsung heroes who have been inaugurated and sworn in by the Jakarta Government today would continue to increase their capacity.

"Continue to hone your skills and improve your performance as a teacher as a form of gratitude. It is not easy to be a teacher today," he added.

He added Jakarta is currently transforming into a global city. Thereby, he invited teachers to continue to innovate in teaching using technology.

"Make this inauguration the best motivation in providing educational services. We will head towards the five centuries of Jakarta City in 2027 and Golden Indonesia in 2045 and the task of teachers is to prepare the cadres of this nation," he added.

He also asked the ranks of Jakarta Education Agency (Dinkes) to optimize School Operational Assistance (BOS) and Education Operational Assistance (BOP) funds, thus they can provide benefits for improving the quality of education.

"Hopefully, with the support of teachers, Jakarta will become a global city like other cities in the world, with a healthy, smart and prosperous society," he said.
