"No campaign during quiet period. I appeal the candidate pairs and their supporters to respect this period," Teguh added.
Similar invitation was also stated by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka. The simultaneous regional elections held on November 27 in 508 regents and cities, as well as 37 provinces are the largest held in Indonesia.
Gibran stated that all parties must support the regional election fully so it can run well and smoothly. It means the public can vote safely and comfortably.
"All parties must actively carry out prevention and early detection if there is a potential conflict. Please resolve it immediately," Gibran stated.
Moreover, Gibran hopes Bawaslu can be firm, fair, and non-discriminatory in carrying out its supervisory function. Bawaslu must also improve the synergy with the General Election Commission (KPU), Election Organization Honorary Council (DKPP), Army, Police, Attorney General's Office, and society's components.
If there is an election dispute, he asked that it can be fully monitored so that all parties get their rights and can file a lawsuit in accordance with applicable regulations.
"I would like to invite all parties to continue to maintain a conducive situation, maintain neutrality, so that this democratic party can run smoothly and provide regional leaders who are in accordance with the hopes and choices of the people," Gibran explained.
