Jakarta Government Wins Award from KPK for Hakordia Support

The Jakarta Provincial Government received a certificate of appreciation from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) for collaborating on World Anti-Corruption Day (Hakordia) activities in Jakarta from December 9 to 10, 2024.

The award was given on Monday (12/9) at the peak of the Hakordia Commemoration at KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan, South Jakarta.

City Secretary, Marullah Matali who received the charter said it is evidence of the Jakarta Provincial Government's commitment to eradicating corruption. This effort must be conducted in synergy with various parties for a more real impact on the community.

"Hakordia commemoration is an important momentum to strengthen the commitment to eradicating corruption at all levels. This is because corruption is detrimental to the country and weakens public trust in the government," he explained.

He stressed support for Hakordia was also the Jakarta Government's commitment to prioritizing transparency, integrity, and accountability in the use of City Budget (APBD) and regional asset management.

"We're trying to prevent corruption in local government to create a clean, transparent, accountable and corruption-free government. To make this happen, we need to start from ourselves," he stressed.

Through Jakarta Inspectorate, he asserted corruption prevention activities have been held throughout 2024, such as socialization of conflicts of interest and control of gratification, anti-corruption education, and development of Jakarta Government integration system. Socialization was held at various levels of education and public services related to prevention of illegal levies.

Aside that, corruption prevention in Jakarta has also caused significant results. It was proven by the integrated corruption prevention index in Jakarta which received the highest score from the KPK and the results of the integrity assessment which received a score of 76. This figure was higher than the national average score of 71.

KPK Chairman, Nawawi Pomolango uttered that the Hakordia commemoration presents several anti-corruption activities that are not only met by the KPK but also ministries, institutions, and other agencies that carry the spirit of eradicating corruption.

"KPK invites all elements of society to participate in enlivening this commemoration. In the spirit of togetherness, let's make the momentum of this World Anti-Corruption Day a milestone for change in realizing a clean, just, and dignified Indonesia towards a Golden Indonesia 2045," he closed.
