48,000 People Flock to TMII Over New Year Holiday

More than 48,000 tourists reportedly flocked to tourist sites across the city over the New Year holiday, including Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) cultural park, East Jakarta.

"Ini menjadi awal yang baik untuk menyambut 2025,"

TMII Director, Intan Ayu Kartika stated the number of visitors was the highest since it was revitalized last year. Moreover, TMII continues to transform into a modern and inclusive cultural tourism destination after being revitalized and inaugurated on September 1, 2023.

Its revitalization included improving public facilities, digitalizing services, and updating cultural attractions that further strengthen TMII's appeal as a representation of Indonesia's cultural richness.

"Very grateful for the public's trust in making TMII their main holiday destination. This is a good start to welcome 2025," she expressed.

During Christmas and New Year holidays, TMII presented an entertainment program "Sukaria Ga Ada Habisnya" with various special shows. Among them were Indonesia International Stuntman Show (November 29, 2024 - January 2025), Pipilaka Calling–Immersive Exhibition (December 14, 2024 - January 31, 2025), Perdanaria Jakarta - Modern Night Market (December 21, 2024 - January 19, 2025).

Then also Sorak Sorai Fest with artists Tiara Andini, TipeX, For Revenge, Endah N Rhesa, GAC, Project Pop, Kunto Aji, Diskopantera, and Aldi Taher (December 30,31, 2024, and January 1, 2025).

"We also have a food bazaar and a cultural performance such as Wayang Golek (wooden puppet theater) on New Year," she added.

TMII Corporate Secretary Manager, Novera Mayang added that from December 21 to January 1, around 270,000 people flocked to TMII.

"This number exceeds 250,000 people," she uttered.

She added one of the attractions that attracted visitors was Tirta Cerita Fountain show which managed to attract the attention of more than 155,000 people.

Seeing that, she was optimistic that TMII could continue to develop and become a proud icon of Indonesian cultural tourism and provide real benefits to the community and the country.

"What an incredible achievement for us," she closed.
