E. Jakarta Mayor Urges Parents to Monitor Their Kids' Outdoor Activities

East Jakarta Acting Mayor, Iin Mutmainah urges her residents, especially parents, to monitor their kids' activities when playing outside the house to ensure their safety.

We call on residents to use them for kids to play

The above statement was made, following the circulation of a video of a kid playing on a scooter on Jalan Raya Soemarno which was viral last week.

"I especially remind parents to be aware of their kids when they are playing outside. Moreover, they are still underage and playing on the street, this is very dangerous and disturbing," she expressed, Tuesday (1/14).

According to her, the virality of the video on social media was a concern considering that the Jakarta Provincial Government and the East Jakarta City administration had prepared open spaces that could be used for interaction or playing.

She added green open houses built by the government, such as RPTRA, Taman Maju Bersama (TMB), and other public facilities, are completed with children's playground facilities, so children do not need to play on the main road.

"We call on residents to use them for kids to play," she asserted.
