Acting Governor Teguh Discusses the Reactivation of Kota TuaTeguh said that the revamping of Wayang Museum is one of the city's commitment to attract more people to visit the museum.
"This is an inseparable part of realizing Jakarta as the center of Indonesian culture and history," he stated.
He mentioned that Jakarta Government also carried out a more comprehensive and integrated arrangement of Kota Tua as the starting point of Jakarta City's establishment. Besides, it is also located in the tourist destination area.
"Therefore, I invite you to integrate together and the Jakarta Government to start reactivating various things around the arrangement of Kota Tua which started from Jalan Kali Besar, including Wayang Museum," he expressed.
He explained that revamping Wayang Museum is not only make it more attractive, but also protecting the cultural heritage. It means Wayang Museum is a tourist destination, education, and a place to preserve historical objects stored in a cultural heritage building.
"I appreciate and hope the Jakarta Culture Agency to improve its service and integrity to carry out various activities that are transparent, accountable, clear and clean to realize Jakarta as the center of culture and history in Indonesia," he conveyed.
Meanwhile, Jakarta Culture Agency Acting Head, Miftahullah Taman explained that his party and a team from cultural heritage preservation experts had rearranged the museum in 2024.
"Alhamdulillah, according to the recommendation of the cultural heritage expert team, the arrangement at Wayang Museum looks soft, thus the puppet collection can be viewed more comfortably by visitors," he stated.
In welcoming the 5th centuries of Jakarta, the new Wayang Museum is equipped with the latest technology such as immersive room, super hologram area, interactive games, and disabled-friendly facility.
"These new facilities are added to attract more tourists and make them comfortable while visiting the museum," he said.
