Disparekraf Introduces Jakarta's MICE Tourism Potential in the United Arab Emirates"The beauty and uniqueness of Betawi cultures through the Betawi Ondel Lodeh dance performed by Khatulistiwa Arts and Culture (SBK) successfully entertained Sri Lanka delegates," said Andhika Permata, Jakarta Parekraf Agency Head, Tuesday (11/5).
Andhika explained the fam trip themed ‘Heritage Tourism’ attended by 150 AGM participants consisting of travel agents and tour operators who are members of TAASL and IAASL was a sign of Jakarta’s readiness to welcome foreign guests in MICE activities. Participants were invited to explore historical tourist attractions in Jakarta such as the Maritime Museum, Sunda Kelapa Harbor, and the National Monument (Monas).
"Participants were invited to explore Indonesia's maritime history through a collection of traditional boats and marine artifacts. They also enjoyed the atmosphere of the historic port and witnessed the activities of traditional fishermen with buildings from the Dutch colonial era. Participants also visited Jakarta's iconic monuments and enjoyed the panorama of the city from the top," he explained.
Andhika added that Jakarta Parekraf's support for AGM TAASL and IAASL is part of agency's strategy in promoting Jakarta tourism at the international level.
He hopes the collaboration with TAASL and IAASL is able to gain Sri Lankan tourist visits to Jakarta. The fam trip implementation should give positive impact on increasing Sri Lankan tourist visits to Jakarta.
"Hopefully the travel agents and tour operators are able to prepare attractive tour packages and promote Jakarta as a leading tourist destination to potential Sri Lanka tourists," he stated.
