This policy aims to make the park a center for recreation and activities for residents, especially at night. Several parks confirmed to operate 24 hours in the initial stage are Literasi Park, Langsat Park and Lapangan Banteng Park.
Jakarta Parks and City Forest Agency (Distamhut)'s Data and Information Center Head, Ivan Murcahyo stated preparations had been made in terms of infrastructure and security for the park which would operate 24 hours.

Those parks would also be used as a community activity center such as for youth organizations and evening sports for residents.
"Usually, sports in the park only go until 5 PM; we will try to open in the evening for futsal and badminton, of course with the approval of the surrounding residents," he expressed, Monday (2/3).
Even though the facilities and infrastructure of the park were ready, there were several challenges still being addressed, especially regarding the acceptance of the residents around the park.
He uttered all parks were ensured to be under CCTV surveillance and security officer. However, there were concerns from residents about the potential disturbance of public order at night. Thereby, the activation of the park needed to involve various local elements such as the mayor's office, neighborhood associations, and residents.
"Like Tebet Ecopark, it is included in the first phase we prepared, but there is resistance from the community. So, coordination with local authorities, which also involves the community, is still ongoing," he closed.
