As many as 10 sub-district community health centers in East Jakarta provide free health check starting today, Monday (2/10).

East Jakarta Health Sub-agency Head, Herwin Meifendy said the program aims to change curative to preventive health paradigm.

If the health check result is normal, he added, the residents will get education related with healthy lifestyle and disease prevention.
"They are reminded to do health check routinely every year," he added.
If the result is abnormal, treatment will be given at the health center. A referral to BPJS will be given to an advanced health facility for further examination and treatment if needed.
This free health check service is divided into age groups. For babies aged 0 years, the services provided include early detection of congenital thyroid hormone deficiency, red blood cell protective enzyme deficiency, congenital adrenal hormone deficiency, and congenital heart disease.
"Screening at 0 to two days of age helps prevent complications and supports growth and development," he continued.
Then services of dental problem detection, growth and development problem, eye and ear sensory function, as we as the risk of tuberculosis, thalassemia, and diabetes will be given to children aged 1-6 years.
Early detection of diabetes, problem with nutritional statusm physical activity, mental health, eye and ear sensory function, and the risk of tuberculosis, thalassemia, and hepatitis will be given to patient aged seven to 17 years.
Meanwhile, screening for the prevention of diabetes, heart disease, stroke, obesity, and mental disorders will be given for patient aged 18-39 years old.
Examinations for the prevention of stroke, cancer, heart disease, and impaired activity are given for patient aged above 40 years.
