Legislator Hasan Abdillah Appreciates Jakarta Provincial Government's Efforts to Prevent Brawls

Jakarta City Council's Commission A Legislator, Muhammad Hasan Abdillah appreciated the Executive's effort in cooperating with TikTok and Instagram to prevent brawl in Jakarta.

He assessed that this step is needed considering the era development demands optimal use of social media.

"It's a good step," he said, Thursday (2/13).

He added that in order the message of content can be delivered optimally for Jakarta residents, cooperation with social media platforms should be optimized with right strategy.

"It is our task to create content that its message can be delivered optimally," he added.

Hasan continued that content related to preventing brawl must be done creatively. It is important to touch the emotion.

In addition to collaborate with social media platforms, Hasan said, creating pre-production, post-production and post-production content is very important.

Hasan hopes the collaboration between Jakarta Provincial Government and social media platforms will effectively prevent brawl. More than that, government programs can also be delivered through social media.

"This is important and strategic step. Media is important as social mitigation and prevention," he said.

Hasan also highlighted the active role of society in preventing the spread of provocative and negative content. Socialization about the prohibition or prevention of provocative content spread needs to be improved.

He wants stricter regulation regarding the provocative content creation on social media. Educational and rehabilitative approach for perpretrators, especially teenagers, rather than relying on legal sanction is also important.
