Jakarta Transportation Agency Head, Syafrin Liputo said, this free homecoming program is organized to accommodate Jakarta residents who would celebrate Eid with their families in their hometowns.
"As we're aware, the demand for the free homecoming program in 2024 was extremely high, resulting in many participants being unable to be accommodated. This year, we will hold a similar program by adding more bus fleets to transport more homecomers," he conveyed during the third edition of Jakarta Update event in MH Thamrin Multipurpose Room, Grha Ali Sadikin, Jakarta City Hall, Monday (2/17).

"As many as 293 buses for homecoming program will depart for six provinces and 20 cities/regencies, including Palembang, South Sumatera; Bandar Lampung, Lampung; Kuningan and Tasikmalaya, West Java; as well as 10 cities/regencies in Central Java including Tegal, Pekalongan, one city in Yogyakarta and five cities in East Java," he explained.
The city, he continued, will also provide transport for Eid 2025 return flow with similar routes, namely two provinces and 20 cities.
"We have prepared 228 buses for Eid 2025 return flow. A total 22,400 passengers will be transported in the Mudik Gratis 2025 program," he stated.
He added, the Jakarta Transportation Agency has also prepared 10 trucks to transport 600 motorcycles belonging to homecomers who depart from Jakarta and return to Jakarta for Eid 2025.
"We are allocating budget around Rp 16 billion to organize the Mudik Gratis 2025 program," he asserted.
