BPBD: Tidal Wave to Occur on February 21-26, 2025

Jakarta Regional Disaster Handling Agency (BPBD) appeals the residents living on coastal area to be aware with tidal wave on February 21-26, 2025.

Maximum high tide is at 5 AM to 10 AM

Acting Jakarta BPBD Head, Marulitua said the phenomenon of maximum sea tides coinciding with the full moon phase has the potential to increase the height of maximum sea tides in the form of coastal flooding or rob in the coastal areas of North Jakarta. The information is based on BMKG Class I Maritime Meteorology Station Tanjung Priok related to Coastal Flood Early Warning.

"Maximum high tide is at 5 AM to 10 AM," he said, Friday (2/21).

Jakarta Coastal Residents Warned to Be Alert for Rob in Coming Days

He added that residents living in Kamal Muara, Kapuk Muara, Penjaringan, Pluit, Ancol, Kamal, Marunda, Cilincing, Kalibaru, Muara Angke, Tanjung Priok and Seribu Islands are appealed to anticipate the impact of tidal wave.

Residents are able to update the information related with sea wave on bpbd.jakarta.go.id/gelombanglaut.

"Please contact our Jakarta Siaga 112 call center for an emergency situation," he stated.
