The Jakarta Government is preparing various solutions to improve the performance of public transportation services in Jakarta.

One of the efforts being made is to develop park and ride locations (parking areas near transportation hubs), such as the development of parking spaces in the Jumat Market area, Lebak Bulus, South Jakarta.
Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) Head, Syafrin Liputo said the development of parking areas in the area would be divided into two phases, namely, short-term and long-term.

Meanwhile, in the long term, there would be development of services into a multi-story building that is integrated with other facilities such as apartments, terminals, and commercial facilities.
"PT MRT Jakarta is also open to collaborating with investors who wish to invest in developing the area into a comfortable, orderly, and beneficial region," he expressed, Thursday (2/27).
Even, the Jakarta Government was also exploring the development of other areas that have similar needs.
He hoped that with the development of better parking facilities, the number of public transport users would increase, reducing dependence on private vehicles, and creating a more orderly and smooth traffic flow in Jakarta.
"The best possibilities will also be developed to improve the quality of public transportation services by utilizing and developing land around transportation center areas," he added.
As information, the Jakarta Government plans to build a seven-story parking facility in the Jumat Market area, Lebak Bulus, South Jakarta.
This plan received positive feedback from residents as a solution to the rampant illegal parking that has been causing traffic congestion in the area.
Aside that, several residentsproposed that similar projects be developed in other locations facing similar issues, such as in the GOR Ciracas area, MRT Fatmawati, and Kebayoran Market.
