Floods in Tanjung Barat Recede

The flood that hit Tanjung Barat Urban Village, Jagakarsa Sub-district, South Jakarta, gradually receded. Previously, the flood occurred after the Ciliwung River overflowed caused by heavy rainfall in the upstream area.

Tanjung Barat Urban Village Head, Rizki Wijaya said 40 PPSU personnel had been deployed to help clean residents' homes and the surrounding environment from mud and debris brought by the water.

"This noon, it has receded significantly. Some areas have completely receded, despite there are still some that remain flooded with 30 to 50 centimeters high," he expressed, Monday (3/3).

He hoped that the flood in Tanjung Barat could recede completely by this noon at the latest.

"Hopefully, before the breaking of the fast, the flood will have completely receded, so that residents can break their fast more comfortably," he hoped.

South Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-agency (Gulkarmat) Head, Syamsul Huda uttered 40 personnel had been deployed since early morning to assist in the evacuation of residents.

"We spread them at all vulnerable points and prepare complete rescue equipment," he explained.

He added the number of rubber boats prepared at all Gulkarmat Posts in South Jakarta reached 32 units.

"To reach the flood location, we also made access roads for residents using Karmantel ropes as some means of holding on and guiding," he closed.
