No More Tolerance for Street Vendors, Ahok Says

Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) asserted that will not give tolerance for the illegal street vendors who violate the rule. Furthermore, he also feels furious about street vendors’ behavior that often traps the Satpol PP officers while the curb activity took place.

"They beat our officers and give the police a wrong report about us, they said that our officers beat them until fall, when in fact, they accidentally flopped but we are arrested by the police," told Ahok in Jakarta City Hall, Monday (6/8).
Ahok also had reported it to the police. "So, I was talking to Police Chief that I can't accept their behavior," he said.

"At the first, we let them to sell in Monas because we want use Monas for their trading place. But they over the limit, a lot of unscrupulous thugs and apparatus appear and sell the stall again," he said.
Besides in Monas, street vendors in Tanah Abang also will be disciplined. The officers will seize the illegal vendors and will not return it to the vendors.
"We also will not tolerate all vendors in Tanah Abang, we will cooperate with the police to seize all kiosks that stand on road side," he told.
