QRIS Tap Launched, Streamlines Public Transportation Payments

The launch event began at Bundaran HI MRT Station. From there, Governor Pramono and his entourage, continued their trip using MRT to Istora Mandiri MRT Station.

This innovation is expected to speed up and simplify the payment process, especially in public transportation such as MRT.
"The happiest are Jakarta itself, as the majority of QRIS users are Jakarta residents," Pramono said.
According to him, QRIS Tap is a fast, secure, and modern payment method that can be used as a payment option for various modes of transportation in Jakarta, including Transjakarta, MRT, and LRT Jakarta.
"With this QRIS,
we hope the queues will become much shorter, more effective, and this will bring positive impacts," he added.QRIS Tap can also support the integration system of JakLingko transportation, allowing people to travel more easily, efficiently, and seamlessly with a single integrated payment system.
"Besides transportation, QRIS Tap can also serve as payment option in various sectors, including SMEs," he mentioned.
He revealed that QRIS Tap will streamline the payment process in the transportation sector and encourage broader digital transformation, supporting Jakarta's advancement towards becoming a global-standard city.
Governor of Bank Indonesia, Perry Warjiyo, stated that QRIS Tap is an innovative payment system without the need to scan. This innovation was developed to offer a new, faster, and secure way to transact digitally.
"Transactions can be completed in 0.3 seconds without the need to manually scan the QR Code," he stated.
The implementation of QRIS Tap will be carried out in stages for transportation, retail, SMEs, education, health, and other sectors. In the transportation sector, QRIS Tap will be available for MRT route, from Bundaran HI Station to Lebak Bulus Station and vice versa.
"In addition, QRIS Tap can be also used on 120 Damri fleets, including Jabodetabek Resident Connexion and 12 Royal Trans buses, as well as on regional public transport, such as Trans Metro Pasundan Bandung and Trans Sarbagita Bali.
"In other sector, 2,353 retail merchants, SMEs, parking services, and hospitals, most of which are public service agencies, are also included," he conveyed.
In the next phase, QRIS Tap will be rolled out across all MRT stations, followed by Transjakarta, LRT, Damri ticketing system, KRL routes in Jabodetabek and Yogyakarta-Solo, bus services, with continuous expansion to additional merchants.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Transportation, Dudy Purwagandhi expressed full support from the Ministry of Transportation for the digital payment transformation through QRIS Tap. It is hoped that the innovation will make payment process faster and easier for the public.
"This effort is part of the government's goal to enhance public transportation accessibility, support financial inclusion, and accelerate digital transformation in the transportation sector," he said.
He also hopes that the innovation will encourage more people to switch from using private vehicles to public transportation.
