49,101 Local and Foreign Tourists Swarm Monas

As many as 49,101 tourists visited the Monas area in Central Jakarta from Tuesday (4/1) until Wednesday (4/2) today.

The dancing fountain show can be enjoyed every day

Monas Management Unit Head, Muhammad Isa Sanuri said the Monas area is open to visitors again after being closed during the Idulfitri celebrations on Monday (3/31).

"48,793 people are domestic tourists, while the remaining 38 are foreign tourists," he expressed, Wesnesday (4/2).

Museums Remain Open During Eid Holiday

During the Eid holiday, from Tuesday (4/1) to Monday (4/7), Isa stated the Monas area will be open from 6 AM to 10 PM.

Besides the Monas monument and the Museum, visitors will also be presented with various interesting performances such as a dancing fountain, entertainment stages, and video mapping.

"The dancing fountain show can be enjoyed every day in two sessions, at 7:30 PM and 8:30 PM," he explained.

Then from April 4 to 6, visitors will be entertained by performances from several famous artists such as Reza Herlambang, Sandy Canester, Sarah Hadju, and the music group The Rain at the South Square of Monas.

The event themed around Eid in Jakarta, Welcoming 5 Centuries of Jakarta, will also be enlivened by video mapping and light installation activities.

Central Jakarta Mayor, Arifin admitted that he had instructed his staff to anticipate various vulnerabilities in Monas, such as parking and illegal levies, as well as disturbances to public order.

"We strive to provide maximum comfort, safety, and public order for tourists visiting the Monas area," he asserted.

Central Jakarta Satpol PP Head, Tumbur Parluhutan Purba added 45 personnel had been prepared for security around the Monas.

They take turns monitoring and guarding from morning until night.

"They also monitor the activities of street vendors to ensure they do not disturb public order," he stated.
