Two Channels Undergo Normalization in Tanah Abang

Central Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency personnel normalize channels on Jalan Karet Pasar Baru Barat 1 RT 01/RW 06, Karet Urban Village and on Jalan Danau Gelinggang 1A, Bendungan Hilir Urban Village, Tanah Abang Sub-district.

"We are targeting the work to be completed within the next two to three weeks,"

According to Eli Menawan Sari, Head of Tanah Abang Sub-district SDA Unit, the normalization work of these two channels began last week. As of now, the progress for channel on Jalan Karet Pasar Baru has reached 78 percent, while on Jalan Danau Gelinggang 1A stands at 47%.

"We are targeting the work to be completed within the next two to three weeks," she asserted, Tuesday (4/15).

According to her, channel on Jalan Karet Pasar Baru has a length of around 219 meters and the one on Jalan Danau Gelinggang 1A is about 120 meters long. 

"Both channles are installed with 60 cm wide and 80 cm high u-ditch concretes," she informed.

For this normalization work, her side deployed 15 personnel in total, consisting of 8 personnel on Jalan Karet Pasar Baru Barat and 7 personnel on Jalan Danau Gelinggang 1A.

After normalization, these two channels are expected to function more effectively in retaining water and helping to mitigate frequent flooding in the area.

"Hopefully, this will effectively address the recurring flooding issues during heavy rain," she expressed.
