ERP is Unlikely to Be Used This Year, Ahok Says

Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) pessimistic about the electronic road pricing (ERP) system could be applied by the end of this year. One of the obstacles which is seen by Ahok is about human resources (SDM) that still not ready so he will rotate the officials first to solve it.

The test which is running from middle of last year is using 100 on board unit (OBU) installed on 100 vehicles owned by resident, transportation department officer, and company employee.
Based on temporary evaluation, some problem that still encountered are many vehicles using license plat modification So it can not be read by ERP tools. With the test, the weakness of tool can be found and will be improved. Additionally, the tool will also be adapted to the shape of Indonesian plate.
The plans, the ERP will be applied in three areas, Area I, Blok M-Stasion Kota, Jalan Gatot Subroto (Kuningan-Senayan), Jalan Rasuna Said- Tendean, Tendean-Blok M, and Jalan Asia Afrika-Pejompongan.
Area II including Dukuh Atas-Manggarai-Matraman-Gunung Sahari and Jatinegara-Kampung Melayu-Casablanca-Jalan Satrio-Tanah Abang. Then, area III Grogol-Roxi-Harmoni, Tomang-Harmoni-Pasar Baru, Cempaka Putih-Senen-Gambir, Cawang-Pluir-Tanjung Priok, Cawang-Tanjung Priok, Sunter-Kemayoran.
